PAIMPOL - COTES D ARMOR IN BRITTANY

the fishing port of paimpol became famous in the 19 th century, because of its fleet fishing cod in long campaigns of several month off the coast of ICELAND.

pleasure boats replaced schooners in the port today. but the myth continues.

the museum of the sea evokes this epic of fishermen  paimpolais, adventure in which about 2 000

of them disappeared, and 100 boats.

take time to stroll around the old city. the homes built by the wealthy shipowners are still present,

witnesses of the rich history of this charming port, where sometimes the wind sings  a refrain that is

well known, one of " la paimpolaise".
